The Job Submission Interface (JSI) is a secure Java application that allows researchers to:
- write, submit and view job requests (and corresponding outputs);
- track the status of the job requests in process ('received', 'processing', 'set to review' etc.);
- and access the history of all job requests ever sent.
The Job Submission Interace can be launched either from the LIS Website or installed on the user's own machine. The Luxembourg Income Study recommends the first option. This way, any future upgrades of the JSI will be automatically applied.
Whatever the method chosen to run the JSI, the Java Runtime Environment (JRE 1.6+) must be installed on the
user's machine. The latest version of JRE can be downloaded here. Note that
Administrator rights are required to install the JRE.
WARNING to Mac users: Lissy 8 will run ONLY on Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 (Leopard) or later.
For those who has not already updated their system to Mac OS X 10.6.1, click here to properly
configure it.

WARNING: your browser may attempt to save the JSI file as a zip file. It is mandatory to save it as a jar file. - Rename the file run_jsi.txt to run_jsi.cmd.
- Edit the run_jsi.cmd file (using Notepad) and apply the java runtime path that matches your configuration.

- To determine the java version, open a CMD window and type java -version at the prompt.

- Return to the folder where the files are saved and double click on the run_jsi.cmd file
- Connect to LISSY using the userid and password given to you at registration. Note that the password is case-sensitive.

Once connected, there are four main tasks that may be carried out by users:
- Submit jobs through the Job Session window.

- View both job request and resulting listing in the Today Job window.
- Manage (view, clean and search) all job requests ever sent in the Job Library window.
