Participating Countries and Organizations
Participation in the LIS project is open to all countries, their respective national research agencies and institutes, and to international research organizations. In order for a country or organization to participate, it must provide microdata suitable for placement in the LIS database.
During the first year following submission of microdata, the country or organization can participate without payment of the annual contribution. During this initial year, it is expected that the organization will locate financial support for continued participation. If necessary, assistance in finding financial support can be provided by LIS. In subsequent years, an annual contribution is assessed. Non-Contributing Participating Countries are those countries that do not make a financial contribution to the LIS Project.

Details can be obtained by contacting Janet Gornick, LIS Director.
